Right at the top of the list is the most important thing. We really can’t stress this enough – research your builder! The relationship you have with your builder will mean the difference between a dream home and a nightmare experience. Talk to others who have used them before, ask them loads of questions and scour the internet for any information.
Build your Dream Home with Resale in mind
You might think to yourself ‘I will live here forever’, and some people do but you might feel differently in 10-15 years. Don’t get stuck with a home you love, but no one else does. Think twice before adding some really polarising permanent features and always keep the neighbourhood’s value in mind. There’s not much point in building a multimillion-dollar home in an area where the median house price is 7-800k. You might end up losing a chunk of change down the road.
Don’t Panic
Panic can usually set in right around the 3 quarters finished stage. This is the stage where things are starting to take shape and rooms are looking like rooms. And what people see is an unfinished version of the final product and they will jump to conclusions about what it will look like.
